ADRIENNE NEWMAN

KINDERGARTEN

 

Education and Qualifications: 

Ms. Newman will be remaining with us and will be returning to teach Kindergarten. Ms. Newman came to us a few years ago from St. Gregory the Great School in San Diego.  She was a founding member of the school and taught the kindergarten class.  She is a graduate of CSU San Marcos and has her teaching credential.  We are grateful to have Ms. Newman here at our school and our community.

ALICIA CALLES

SECOND GRADE


Education and Qualifications:  ​

Ms. Calles is our 2nd Grade teacher. She is a graduate of San Diego State University and holds a degree in Early Childhood Education.  She spent part of her studies abroad in England sharing in an excellent education program at Keele University.  She is also qualified in special education and in studies related to autism.

Ms. Garcia is well-qualified in child development and adolescent behavior and holds degrees in this area from Imperial Valley College and Union Institute and University.

KEVIN RODRIGUEZ

FOURTH GRADE


Education and Qualifications: 

Mr. Rodriguez will join us and take responsibility for Fourth Grade. He holds a Master’s Degree from Methodist Theological School in Ohio, as well as furthering his education at the Pontifical College Josephinum, in Columbus, Ohio, and at California State University, Monterey Bay.  He holds many awards and prizes from the educational institutions with which he has been involved and has a particular interest in Catholic Education.  We are happy to welcome him to St. Mary’s.

GONZALO ESTRADA

FIFTH GRADE


Education and Qualifications: â€‹â€‹

Mr. Estrada will be joining our Faculty this year, and will take responsibility for our Fifth Grade class. Mr. Estrada studied for a BA in Liberal studies at Fresno State University. He holds a multiple subject credential and has a wide experience of education in the Imperial Valley.  He last taught at Imagine School and held many positions of responsibility there.  We wish him a warm welcome.

MARCIA VALENZUELA

SIXTH GRADE


Education and Qualifications: 

Mrs. Valenzuela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish with a minor in history from SDSU.  She has a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning.  She holds a single subject California credential and has a specialization in English Language Learners.  Mrs. Valenzuela also has extensive teaching experience gained in the Imperial Valley.

MARCOS PACHECO

SEVENTH GRADE ENGLISH AND LANGUAGE ARTS


Education and Qualifications: 

Comes to us from Sacred Heart School, Brawley.  Those who attend Our Lady of Guadalupe in Calexico will recognize him from helping out at services there.  He studied Liberal Studies at San Diego State University. Both of his parents are teachers and other members of his family are also involved in education.  Mr. Pacheco will be responsible for 7th Grade and will teach English and Language Arts.
